Abstract

In today's fast paced technological world, organisations are striving to deliver value to their customers faster and faster to stay ahead of their competitors.

Finding the right balance between speed and quality isn't easy however, and quality is not something that can be simply "tested in" at the end of a development cycle.

To be successful, quality needs to be built in continuously throughout, and that starts with firstly understanding what quality really means.

To help kick start things, in this talk, Stuart will describe how through people, process and tools you can do this and start shifting the quality culture. Building the foundations to achieving continuous quality and really understand what quality means to your organisation and customers, along with how you can start to measure it.

Speaker Profile

Stuart is the Head of Quality Engineering at Capital One. He has over 25 years of experience in the quality, testing and general tech industry, working in multiple different sectors throughout his career such as retail, travel, publishing and financial services. He is also a certified coach, international speaker, blogger and podcast host.

He believes that quality doesn't start with the tech and tools we use, but with our people and culture, and he prides himself on being a catalyst leader. Using his coaching skills to create safe environments that empower and enable people and teams to build empathy and understanding to solve their own problems and open their minds do a different way of thinking about quality and testing.
