A Live Intro to Python Testing

Python is a wonderful language for test automation. Its syntax is simple and concise, and its library of packages is deep and wide. In this session, I'll show you how to start testing with Python - entirely through live coding! That's right: no slides, just hands-on automation! Specifically, we'll learn how to set up a project to use pytest and Playwright. Then, we will write unit, API, and UI tests together. By the end of the session, you'll be prepared to start automating your tests with Python, and you'll have resources for learning more.

About the Speaker

Andrew Knight, also known as “Pandy,” is the Automation Panda. He’s a software quality champion who loves to help people build better quality software. An avid supporter of open source software, Pandy is a Playwright Ambassador as well as the lead developer for Boa Constrictor, the .NET Screenplay Pattern. On the side, he is writing a book on software testing with Manning Publications. Apart from software, Pandy works on vintage Volkswagens.
