What is My Proxy IP?

A proxy is a gateway between your device and the internet, directing your traffic through its own server to hide your real IP address. Proxies are an integral part of the Internet, serving as stand-ins for your Internet connection and server or your email system when you have several email addresses.

Proxy email addresses allow you to use one mailbox to manage all of your email accounts. A proxy server acts as a mediator for you and others on the Web, protecting your identity while extending your reach across multiple servers and systems.

In simple terms:

  • Your real IP stays hidden.
  • Websites see the proxy server’s IP instead of yours.
  • It’s commonly used for privacy, security, and bypassing geo-restricted content.

Steps to find my proxy server:

  • Click the Windows Icon and search for "Internet Options."
  • Open the "Internet Options" window and head to the "Connections" tab.
  • Click "LAN Settings" within the "Connections" tab.
  • If the checkbox next to "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is selected, a proxy server is in use.
  • Your proxy IP or server address will be displayed.

When Would You Need to Know Your Proxy IP?

You may want to know your proxy IP address in scenarios like:

  • Verifying that your proxy is working correctly.
  • Confirming that your IP has changed after setting up the proxy.
  • Debugging issues related to connectivity or access restrictions.
  • Configuring software or firewall settings to allow the proxy IP.
