The number of times a webpage is viewed is called page views. Each page is loaded in the web browser and counts as one view. Page views differ from page visits because one person can visit your site multiple times and view different pages each time.
Page views are important because they are a simple metric that can be calculated easily. They do not consider whether the view is on a new or existing visit to a website. Websites can provide better privacy while using their site by not tracking visitors depending on page views.
The metric Pageviews describes the number of times a page was loaded or reloaded in a browser. The metric is an instance of individual web pages being loaded or reloaded, not an actual user. Each page URL and title combination is counted as a unique pageview. Unlike Pageviews, Unique Pageviews are the total number of sessions during which a specific page was viewed at least once.
