How to open two apps on an iPad?

There are several ways to have two apps open on an iPad simultaneously:

• Slide Over: With the slide-over feature, you can launch a different app on top of the one you're now using. Swipe from the right edge of the screen to reveal the Dock, then tap and hold the app you want to launch and slide it to the left edge of the screen to use Slide Over.
• Split View: This function allows you to run two programs simultaneously. Open the Dock by swiping from the right side of the screen, then tap and hold the app you want to launch and slide it to the left side of the screen to activate Split View. As soon as the app is launched, swipe down from the top to reveal the Dock again and choose a different app to launch in the opposite half of the screen.
• Picture-in-picture: This feature lets you use another app while a video is playing in a small window. Press the Home button after starting to play a video in an app that supports Picture-in-Picture. A tiny window that can be enlarged and dragged about the screen will continue to play the movie.
• Drag and drop: This feature allows you to drag and drop content from one app to another that is open on the screen.
