The web developer tools included with most major Internet browsers are helpful for several reasons, including debugging code and testing changes to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in real-time. Follow the instructions to learn how to open developer tools in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer.

Open Developer Tools in Google Chrome:

  • Open Google Chrome and head to the three dots in the top right corner.
  • Hover over the More Tools option from the dropdown menu.
  • Select the Developer Tools option from the dropdown menu.
  • You will be presented with a new section at the bottom of the screen displaying the developer tools.
