You may be able fake it by setting the WebDrivers PageLoadTimeout to zero.

In C# this worked for me:

driver.Manage().Timeouts().SetPageLoadTimeout(new TimeSpan(0));

I'm Guessing in Java it would be something like this:

driver.manage().timeouts().pageLoadTimeout(0, TimeUnit.SECONDS);

After you're done doing that you could turn it back up to 30 seconds or something as some posts have indicated the default is.

You can run a single feature file by using cucumber.options which will override all the options you have in the @CucumberOptions annotation:

EDIT (Jun 2021): Subsequent versions removed the cucumber.options construct and replaced it. One way to achieve the same result now is through the use of tags. Place a tag on top of your feature file (example @feature_file_name) and then run the following command:

mvn test -Dcucumber.filter.tags='@feature_file_name'

Couple of things to keep that in mind:

1. Testing the xpath on Chrome debugger of Firebug does not necessarily mean that the selector is going to return the target element uniquely. There might be some other elements hidden with same selector and webdriver will fail to find the target element in that case. For debugging purpose use findElements a see how many elements it returns.
2. Element loading issue such as: visibility can also be another issue. That's why you need to make sure the element is present and visible. Use explicit wait

If the class is not unique and you want to find the span depending on the div you can do the following:

If you are able to set a fixed number of calls to expect, it can be done with an ArgumentCaptor:

Another way is to specify all the expected values to verify, but those need to be provided in the exact order that they are invoked. The difference to the above solution is that this doesn't fail even if the mock is additionally called with some non-verified arguments. In other words, no need to know the number of total invocations. Code example:

For sure you can. We use Selenium a lot as an assistant in getting some datas from websites.

When you have a process involving multiple steps, including opening website, login, choosing 54 parameters and need only 1 human interaction (resolving a captcha, for example), Selenium can automate those boring tasks and let the user concentrate on the one which is important.

What we do here, is to make a Swing dialog with an input field to get what the user want to enter, then the actual form submission is performed by Selenium. You can do the same thing with links, and you can ask the user to select a link to click on, and perform the actual click with webdriver.

The ExplicitWait method of Amith is also a good one. You can focus on what you expect after the user has clicked, and wait until this condition is realized

Yes, you can include the link to your screenshot in testng report.

You need to call org.testng.Reporter.log method to write the hyperlink to the testng report either by annotating your test class or parent of all testclasses with @Listeners({yourListener.class}) or by adding the listener to your testng.xml.

You need to first create a Listener class and add it to testng. You can get details for that from testng.org. Search for listener.

Once you create that class, you should write a method in it which overrides the ontestfailure method. The code inside this method will be executed whenever testng identifies a failure.

You can call your screenshot grabbing method and use Reporter.log to put the hyperlink to that screenshot. Then you can find this link under the failed testcases details.
