Actually, your above question is different than the actual question hence you should have asked it as a separate question. Still, I'm answering to your previous question.

The error is because the element you're trying to click on isn't visible. Before you click on element, it should be visible. You can do this by following -

WebElement element = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//div[2]/div[2]"));
WebDriverWait wait = new WebDriverWait(driver, 20); //here, wait time is 20 seconds

wait.until(ExpectedConditions.visibilityOf(element)); //this will wait for elememt to be visible for 20 seconds
element.click(); //now it clicks on element

If above doesn't work, you can click on element by executing javascript(but this isn't a good practice)

JavascriptExecutor js = (JavascriptExecutor)driver;
js.executeScript("arguments[0].click();", element);

This will give all elements that contains text foobar

driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[text()[contains(.,'foobar')]]"));

If you want exact match,

driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[text() = 'foobar']"));

Or you can execute Javascript using JQuery in Selenium

This will return all web elements containing the text from parent to the last child, hence I am using the jquery selector :last to get the inner most node that contains this text, but this may not be always accurate, if you have multiple nodes containing same text.

(WebElement)((JavascriptExecutor)driver).executeScript("return $(\":contains('foobar'):last\").get(0);");

If you want exact match for the above, you need to run a filter on the results,

(WebElement)((JavascriptExecutor)driver).executeScript("return $(\":contains('foobar')\").filter(function() {" +
    "return $(this).text().trim() === 'foobar'}).get(0);");

jQuery returns an array of Elements, if you have only one web element on the page with that particular text you will get an array of one element. I am doing .get(0) to get that first element of the array and cast it to a WebElement

To select an option based on the label:

Select select = new Select(driver.findElement(By.xpath("//path_to_drop_down")));
select.deselectAll();
select.selectByVisibleText("Value1");

To get the first selected value:

WebElement option = select.getFirstSelectedOption()

Get all the window handles then iterate through them, switching webdriver to the new handle, then calling the close method. Obviously skip this for the original handle, then switch back to the remaining handle.

Something like;

    String originalHandle = driver.getWindowHandle();

    //Do something to open new tabs

    for(String handle : driver.getWindowHandles()) {
        if (!handle.equals(originalHandle)) {
            driver.switchTo().window(handle);
            driver.close();
        }
    }

    driver.switchTo().window(originalHandle);

You need to call ignoring with an exception to ignore while the WebDriver will wait.

FluentWait<WebDriver> fluentWait = new FluentWait<>(driver)
        .withTimeout(30, TimeUnit.SECONDS)
        .pollingEvery(200, TimeUnit.MILLISECONDS)
        .ignoring(NoSuchElementException.class);

See the documentation of FluentWait for more information. But beware that this condition is already implemented in ExpectedConditions, so you should use:

WebElement element = (new WebDriverWait(driver, 10))
   .until(ExpectedConditions.elementToBeClickable(By.id("someid")));

*Fewer versions of Selenium:

withTimeout(long, TimeUnit) has become withTimeout(Duration)
pollingEvery(long, TimeUnit) has become pollingEvery(Duration)

So the code will look as such:

FluentWait<WebDriver> fluentWait = new FluentWait<>(driver)
        .withTimeout(Duration.ofSeconds(30)
        .pollingEvery(Duration.ofMillis(200)
        .ignoring(NoSuchElementException.class);

I've run into the same issue.

Apparently Chrome automatically updates itself. Yesterday (Oct 29 '19) My ChromeDriver started complaining that it was not compatible with Chrome 78. I updated the driver to the 78 version. I started to get random org.openqa.selenium.NoSuchElementException exceptions when trying to find elements that I confirmed were there. The findElement[s] also work when I used breakpoints. I also tried implicit waits, with only limited success.

I tried zsbappa's ChromeOption solution but no joy.

Google makes it hard to get old versions of Chrome, but I found version 76 at https://www.neowin.net/news/google-chrome-76-offline-installer/. Beware, the online installer installs the latest version. I reverted to the driver for 76 and all is good. All my Selenium tests are working again.

My conclusion is that the Chrome 78 and it's associated driver has a race condition where Selenium attempts to interrogate the web page before it's complete.

You can try the following code:

Create a .bat file adding below command

then start the .bat file before executing your code

Don't use meaningless XPath. Your error message tells you "NoSuchElement", so you had your locator wrong, which has nothing to do with getText (not yet). Try using CssSelector or meaningful XPath:

 driver.findElement(By.cssSelector("#ctrlNotesWindow .notesData > .notesDate")).getText();
