• Let’s Make Sure Your APIs are Secure: Bas Dijkstra, a Test Automation Trainer and Consultant, will discuss the challenges and best practices in test automation. He will share insights on how to build effective automation frameworks and strategies to overcome common pitfalls in test automation projects. This talk is ideal for those looking to improve their automation skills and gain practical advice from an industry expert.
• Exploring the GPU Load Testing Through Generative AI Workloads: In this talk, Vishnu Murty Karrotu will introduce a new way to do GPU load testing using Generative AI tasks with Python-Docker setup and JMeter. He uses Nvidia GPUs and the Stable Diffusion model to mimic real-world scenarios for performance testing.

Vishnu will also explain the technical details of the setup, showing how Docker containers handle workload creation and GPU use while Python scripts manage AI model deployment. JMeter adds to the testing, allowing for a full look at GPU performance across different tasks.

• Regress without Regret: Enhanced Visual Regression with Multi-Modal Generative AI: This session of the Testμ conference, Ahmed Khalifa, Software Quality Manager at Accenture, will talk about a new approach to visual regression testing using multi-modal Generative AI. This method simplifies UI consistency checks by extracting structured data from images, making testing more efficient and scalable.

Second, he’ll cover data-driven testing, where the same test can be applied to various data sets to produce different results. This method helps reduce code and execution time.

• Automate Testing of Secured Mobile Apps: In this session, Karen Hsu, SVP of Mobile DevOps and Security at Appdome, will address challenges in testing mobile apps with security protections. You will learn how to streamline testing by eliminating the need for separate tests for protected and unprotected builds, reducing complexity in automated environments, and automating tests for apps with built-in security features.
• AI in Testing: Strategies for Promotion and Career Success: Jason Arbon, CEO of Checkie.AI, will discuss how AI impacts software testing. While AI can boost efficiency and creativity, it can also introduce risks if not used carefully.

Jason will explain how testers can use AI to automate routine tasks and focus on more valuable work to advance their careers. He’ll also cover how to leverage AI for promotions and avoid common pitfalls that increase complexity and make debugging harder.

• Accelerate Your Testing Career Path in the Never-Ending Hurricane of Digital Transformation: This talk by Sapna Manjunath, QA Manager at Randstad USA, discusses strategies for navigating a QA career. Attendees will learn how to define their career path in QA, advance within their organizations, and find roles that align with their ambitions.

The session will also provide insights for C-Suite executives and managers on building effective QA teams and collaborating with third-party QA providers. This talk will help professionals establish a clear roadmap for their careers and achieve their goals in a dynamic environment.

• Choosing the Right Framework: Exploring the Selenium Ecosystem for Testing: This talk will look at whether Selenium is the best choice for web testing. Diego Molina, Staff Software Engineer at Sauce Labs, will discuss Selenium’s strengths, including browser compatibility, cross-platform support, and a strong ecosystem, as well as its extensive community support and various programming language bindings.

However, he will also address challenges like Selenium’s steep learning curve, the need for explicit waits, handling dynamic elements, and the maintenance overhead of test scripts.

• How to Use Personalized AI Agents to Speed Up Software Development & Improve Code Quality: In this session, Eran Yahav, CTO of Tabnine, will demonstrate practical ways to make AI tools more relevant to specific needs, significantly enhancing developer productivity and code quality.

You will learn how Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) works and how it enhances AI output by integrating external information into the language model’s prompts. This technique helps AI code assistants access a wider range of code elements and documentation, leading to more accurate and relevant suggestions.

• Master Test Writing With GitHub Copilot: Michelle Duke, Developer Advocate at GitHub, will introduce GitHub Copilot and its use of machine learning to help developers write code. Many developers enjoy coding but find writing tests less appealing. This session will cover different types of tests and how GitHub Copilot can assist in writing them. Michelle will also share best practices for prompt engineering to get the most from GitHub Copilot.
• Chaos as an Art: Crafting Chaos, Creating Order: In this talk, Yusuf Tayman, Lead QA Engineer at OpenPayd, will explore how to transform chaos into order and turn disorder into a masterpiece. The session will cover principles of chaos engineering and how to apply them in real life. Yusuf will demonstrate how to organize chaos in a controlled way and use k6 for fault injection scenarios. You will also learn how to handle system failures and create resilient systems.
• Testing With XCUITest and Espresso: Integrations, Architecture, and Cloud Testing With LambdaTest: This session will cover mobile testing using XCUITest and Espresso. It will show how these tools provide stable, high-performance test suites and discuss designing test automation for modularity and maintainability.

With tools like GitHub Copilot set to revolutionize code generation, testers’ roles are becoming more critical, requiring heightened productivity and effectiveness. Rituparna will discuss how GenAI can enhance the tester experience by assisting rather than replacing testers and will provide insights on cognitive factors affecting tester experience, how GenAI can improve value-added activities, and what a tester’s daily routine might look like in the future.

• Steering AI, the Critical Role of Quality Engineering: This panel session will cover the key responsibilities of quality engineering in AI development, deployment, and maintenance. Experts like Chris, Kiran, and others will talk about the importance of quality assurance, ethical considerations, and testing frameworks for managing risks and improving AI reliability. Panelists will also discuss methods, challenges, and best practices for handling AI technologies.
• Selenium Beyond the Nitty Gritty of the Programming Language: In this workshop by Pallavi Sharma, Founder of 5 Elements Learning and Mosaic Words, you will explore the Selenium tool for automated web testing. The session will cover how to start with Selenium, irrespective of the programming language. Participants will learn about Selenium’s features and the basics of web automation.
• Dancing With the Metrics: Monitoring for Keeping on Track: In this session, Mesut Durukal, Senior QA Automation Engineer at Indeed, will explore how to measure and ensure the quality of deliverables.

The discussion will focus on identifying key quality metrics and methods to track them effectively. You will learn how to manage and automate the collection of multiple metrics and understand what steps to take after gathering the data.

• Data Validation Framework: Manoj Kumar Anand, Quality Assurance Engineer at AWS, and Pranavi Kandagadla Prasad, Quality Assurance Manager at AWS, will present a session on creating a generic data validation framework for file-based target systems.

They will discuss the complexity of data validation and the lack of one-size-fits-all solutions, emphasizing the need for a customizable framework. The framework they introduce, built using native AWS services and available as a CDK, leverages the data quality feature in AWS Glue. It automates essential data checks such as null checks, file structure validation, valid value checks, and duplicate detection on target file systems.

• Automating Quality: A Vision Beyond AI for Testing: In this session, Tariq King, Chief Executive Officer at Test IO, will delve into the evolving role of generative AI and large language models in software testing, exploring how AI can extend beyond testing to automate quality across the software lifecycle.

He will discuss the importance of implementing checks and balances when adopting AI and the need to validate AI-generated content. Tariq will also address the challenges of testing AI systems during both development and production.

• Automated Testing of AI-ML Models: Toni Ramchandani, VP at MSCI Inc., will explore the importance of testing in the development of AI/ML models in an era where these technologies are transforming industries.

The session will cover various testing techniques essential for validating AI/ML models, beginning with an overview of automated testing and its significance. You will explore key tools like DeepXplore, which identifies neural network inconsistencies, and SHAP, which helps in model transparency.

• Elevating App Test Coverage: Vijay Selvam, Engineering Manager at Swiggy, will demonstrate how to effectively enhance non-functional test coverage by incorporating advanced testing methodologies into the development lifecycle.

He will showcase practical techniques for implementing accessibility testing, analytic events testing, security testing, image comparison testing, and error code unification. Through real-world examples and case studies, Vijay will illustrate how these strategies can significantly improve the stability, performance, and security of applications.

• Where Have the Women of Tech History Gone: Laura Durieux, a Web Developer and Streamer at Inside Software, will look at the often overlooked contributions of women in tech through her session. She will highlight figures like Ada Lovelace, Hedy Lamarr, Grace Hopper, and Joan Clarke, aiming to shed light on the historical role of women in shaping computer science.

The session will explore why these contributions are underrepresented and provide role models needed in the tech industry.

• HyperExecute: Transforming the Future of Software Testing: This talk by Anmol Gupta, Senior Product Manager at LambdaTest, will be about HyperExecute – an end-to-end test orchestration platform. By the end, attendees will know how to use HyperExecute to improve testing, speed up release times, and deliver better software faster.
• Hello, Assumption, My Old Friend! Or Can a Tester Make a Good Product Owner: In this session, Hristina Koleva will share her transition from a senior QA to a junior Product Owner. She will discuss how her testing skills helped her become a better product owner and what skills she needed to unlearn.

The talk will reveal how testing’s first law—’ Never make assumptions’—contrasts with product ownership’s first law—’Be aware that you’re always making an assumption.’

• BiDi-ing Farewell to Cross-Browser Automation Headaches: This talk by Matthias Rohmer, Developer Relations Engineer at Google, will cover existing automation solutions, their challenges, and how WebDriver BiDi addresses these issues. Real-world examples will be provided to show how attendees can implement these improvements in their automation workflows.
• Revolutionizing API Testing and Development With AI: In this session by Pooja Mistry from Postman, she will look at how Postman uses advanced AI and automation. You will learn how AI can improve your testing strategies and automate repetitive tasks. Also, discover practical techniques for integrating AI into your API workflows.
• Testing Your Test: In this session, Andres Sacco will explain how to measure the effectiveness of your tests. Many developers write unit tests to validate code and increase coverage. It seems fine initially, but issues arise when code changes, and tests still pass. He will demonstrate the Pitest tool for evaluating test quality.
• The Good and Bad of Contract Testing: Wessel Braakman from Bouvet ASAtalk will discuss how contract testing can change things. It will point out common mistakes and give tips on how to use it well in development. Developers and testers will learn how to use contract testing to make their systems more reliable and efficient.
• Shifting Left – From Dream to Reality: In this session, Patrick Delamere, Principle Director at Accenture Song, will introduce StackMore and its role in simplifying environment provisioning to support shift-left testing. He will demonstrate how StackMore can improve both developer and tester experiences by quickly setting up critical environments and test automation tools.

Patrick will also show how StackMore integrates with LambdaTest to drive test automation processes. Additionally, he will explain how GenAI is used within StackMore to help developers and testers understand and use the solution more effectively.

• Changing Role of Quality Engineering in the Age of AI: In this panel, experts like Ben, Garie, Jammie, and others will explore the changing role of quality engineering in the AI era. They will discuss how AI adoption is transforming organizational trends, processes, and roles, addressing challenges and biases in AI models.
• How to Scalably Test LLMs: In this talk, Anand Kannappan will address the unpredictability of LLM behavior and focus on the most reliable automated methods for scalable testing of LLMs.

He will highlight that intrinsic evaluation metrics like perplexity are often poorly correlated with human judgments and should not be used for post-training evaluation. Anand will also point out that open-source LLM benchmarks are now unreliable for measuring AI progress, as most LLM developers have already trained on them.

Day 3: 23rd August

• AI: Accelerating the Path to Quality Excellence: In this panel discussion, panelists Mobin, Rani, and others will discuss integrating AI into quality assurance, focusing on AI-driven quality control and strategies to use AI to achieve high-quality standards. Industry leaders will share insights on how AI can be harnessed to speed up the journey to quality excellence, ensuring both efficiency and adherence to top-quality benchmarks.
• Seamless Upgrades: Mastering API Compatibility: Naresh Jain, Founder & CEO of Xnsio, ConfEngine, and Specmatic, will discuss the importance of maintaining backward compatibility for APIs in the fast-paced software development world. The talk will cover how Specmatic, an open-source project, has introduced a shift-left approach to compatibility testing, reducing costs and simplifying the process significantly.
• Robustly Scaling Playwright Tests: In this session of the Testμ conference, Andrew Knight, Senior Director of Product Management at Cycle Labs, will lead an advanced workshop on writing robust Playwright tests. • Old Tools, New Tricks: Unleashing the Power of Time-Tested Testing Tools: Benjamin Bischoff, Test Automation Engineer at Trivago N.V., will demonstrate the value of exploring familiar tools. The session will focus on how revisiting and combining classic tools with new technologies can improve problem-solving in test automation.
• Automation – We’re Doing It Wrong: Melissa Tondi, Head of Technology Enablement at Campminder, will address common misconceptions and perceptions about automation in software testing. The talk aims to clarify what automation truly entails and dispel myths about its limitations and capabilities.
• Unlocking Efficiency With Cypress: A Guide to Your First Automated Test: Anna Patterson, Principal Software Quality Engineer at EVERFI, is leading an interactive session on test automation. She will share her knowledge from over ten years in the field. The focus will be on Cypress, a framework that’s easy to use.

You’ll learn to write your first automated test and get practical advice on improving your skills. This session is meant to boost your confidence and help you advance in test automation. It’s a great opportunity to enhance your career in software testing.

• Learn How to Improve the Accessibility of Your App: This session by Harris Schneiderman, Senior Product Manager at Deque, will be on integrating Intelligent Guided Tests, computer vision, and AI with human judgment. The session will cover how this combination can prevent accessibility issues from reaching production and help deliver cleaner, more accessible code.
• Using State Machines With Playwright: Gopi Shankar Haridas, SDET at Direct Line Group, will discuss state machines and state charts in the context of automation with Playwright. He will introduce the JavaScript state machine library XState and explain how to create state machines, as well as define states, transitions, and actions using XState.

The talk will include how to use the actions property for state transitions and how to integrate XState with Playwright. Gopi will also demonstrate how to write and execute tests with XState.

• Beyond Numbers: From Reports to Insight: Hrishi Potdar, Quality Engineering Architect at Boomi, will address the key differences between information and knowledge in today’s data-driven world. As software development generates vast amounts of data through tests, processes, and practices, it’s essential to deliver the right data to the right customers within an organization.

He will discuss the challenges of adding visibility into relevant data in mid to large organizations and explore common questions such as readiness for release, coverage, and risk areas. The talk will emphasize the importance of test reporting in decision-making to maintain high quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

• How to Measure Code Coverage for Blackbox Tests: Kulas Angeles, Director of Software Quality Engineering at Sun Life Financial, will present a talk focusing on leveraging Jacoco to measure coverage for black-box tests.

He will highlight the key benefits of implementing this approach, including paving the way for holistic testing, providing metrics to identify quality gaps and ensure traceability, and fostering accountability and discussion between developers and quality engineers. The session will also feature a short demo to showcase how JaCoCo can be used effectively for coverage measurement.

• How to Start Unf**king Your Tests: In this session, Filip Hric, DevRel at Replay.io, will cover test flakes and their causes. He’ll show that these issues are not random but determined by software. The talk includes live code examples for preventing flakes and a comparison of flake prevention in Cypress and Playwright. It will also highlight the need to shift focus from test flakiness to app flakiness.
• Too Fast Too Furious: Scaling Quality Engineering for Millions Worldwide: Priyanka Halder, Sr. leader of Quality Engineering & Release at Tinder, will tackle a key question: Can you achieve 100% confidence with daily releases?
